Aston Villa eye £30m move for Leeds star Ethan Ampadu

Aston Villa are reportedly weighing a £30m move for Leeds United midfielder Ethan Ampadu as they fortify their squad for a return to Champions League football.

The 25-year-old Welsh international has emerged as a primary target as he enters the final year of his contract at Elland Road, sparking urgency within the Leeds hierarchy to secure his long-term future.

While contract extension talks were initiated in January, with Leeds officials optimistic that a lucrative new deal would be signed, no formal agreement has been reached. This uncertainty has prompted former Villa striker Stan Collymore to champion the move. Speaking to talkSPORT, Collymore noted that Ampadu possesses the ideal profile for the Midlands club, particularly in an era of stringent Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), which demand more strategic recruitment.
