Real Madrid Presidency: Perez plans record €150m transfer
Florentino Pérez has vowed to shatter Real Madrid’s transfer record with a mystery €150m bid as the presidential race heats up. The incumbent leader ruled out Erling Haaland and Michael Olise, promising a creative star from midfield up.

The race for the Real Madrid presidency has reached a definitive turning point as incumbent Florentino Pérez unveils a landmark financial strategy designed to secure a new marquee talent for the club.
In a maneuver aimed at solidifying his vision for the Merengues’ future, Pérez announced that an unprecedented transfer bid is now imminent.
Real Madrid has been hit by off-field issues throughout the 2025/26 season. The club is not on course to rebuild for the new season, starting with the presidential elections.
Addressing club members directly in the lead-up to the election, the veteran president disclosed the significant scale of the forthcoming proposal: "On Tuesday we will make an offer of more than 150 million euros for a player who plays in the Champions League.
"It will be the most expensive signing in the history of Real Madrid," Perez says.
While initial speculation focused on perennial targets such as Erling Haaland or French winger Michael Olise, Pérez moved quickly to dismiss those names.
Maintaining an air of mystery while offering a tactical clue, he clarified the profile of the intended acquisition: "The signing isn't Olise, nor Haaland. It will be another who plays from midfield upwards."
This calculated declaration serves as a powerful statement of intent for Pérez’s re-election campaign.
His opponent in the race, Enrique Riquelme, has also been talking about the players he will sign if he wins.
The vote is open to the club's 100,000 socio members and will take place from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Real Madrid City Basketball Pavilion.
